View Full Version : historic motorsport show (not 56k friendly)
great show for any 1 who love historic motorsport, loads of lovly cars inside and out, including a display from slowly sideways
and central blast cleanings car is lovly
Good pics Tim. :thumb:
I went last year , saw "Kermit" on the CBC stand. They do make a good job don't they.
few action shots but there were no escorts outside
i've just got back from it today and cbc's escort is awesome - the engine sits so far back..
had to call it a day though when we were watching the rally display and lost the feeling in hands due to the wind:( bloody freezing.

Its a shame it will never pass scruitineering as the seats are mounted further back than the roll cage on the B posts
great pics tim, that nissan 240rs looks like the 1 that was on the tempest last year
hopfully the seat mounts are 1 of the things that were done just so it was ready for the show

Cant see Prodrive influence in that at all can you
But it is understandable;)
The Scooby rear Suspension is what I was going to do on the Kadett if I hadnt found a Piazza for the right money
Early impreza rear track is same as Manta A so will fit inside Standard Chevette Arches, it already has the forward mountings for the trailing arms in the shell too, just needs Turrets and then tying the subframe into the Cage ;) :thumb:
Wish I had gone on Friday now :stu:

That central blast Escort really isn't an escort is it, its a totally different car with escort wings bolted to it :percy:

Hooooooooowwly cr*p:eek:
CBC are in another league when it comes to escort mods!!
I saw colin mcrae's car in classic for but CBC seen to have taking the modding to another level with that front end work.
Question to everyone:
Where do we think its gonna stop > WRC Mk1 escort??
Discuss!

I would just say one thing about the CBC and McCrae cars. All very well if it works, but will it. I hope so cos it looks lovely BUT...
(Still have concerns about the driving position and cage though, because we had similar issues with my car when the bulkhead went back that far.
Really you need the main hoop further back on the cage if the seats are gonna go back that far, but I'm sure they will sort it before it gets finished)
If the CBC car can be made legal for motorsport it will be interesting to see what it does against a similarly powerful live axled GP4 escort. Only then will we know if we should be raiding the subaru wrc parts bin in the future popcorn:

Interesting point there dave.
i see what you mean, i know from when i was rallying (early 90's) people where being adventureous back then and try 15" rims and the handling was pants.
Even though, the CBC car looks like an absolute work of art, no-one can deny that:clap:
hope it all works out well:thumb:
im not entirely a purist but im not keen on the new breed of techno escorts...
But those group b pix.. :carl: :carl: :carl:
