Hi,I would think that a 3.54 diff will be the way to go,one from an escort mk2 will fit as the corsair uses an english axle. The capri uses a totally different axle (atlas). As for a 5 speed 'box I don't think a type nine will fit an essex engine. HTH:thumb:
I think 3 litre capris had a 3.09 diff ratio, But all 3 litres were fitted with the atlas, so you are unlikly to find a similar ratio in a English diff, one option is fit a Mk1 3 litre Capri axle, with the better ratio larger, have a measure of the Mk3 2.8 axle, it may be a near fit with the right wheels, a taller tire can be used to get a more favorable ratio:D :D

Type 9 requires a consul V4 bell housing to fit the essex V6 with cable clutch or a V4 corsiar B/H if you've got hydrolic clutch already, i beleive.
