hi - got the option of either an engine with a dizzy or no dizzy.
going to run standard injection for a bit with the intention to swap to carbs to a later date (not after massive bhp)
whats teh pros cons of having a dizzy or not? its going into a chevette so no clearance problems with dizzy like the scort

hi mate im in the same situation myself; i havent been able to get a difinitive answer tho. i personally am going with the distributorless version and intend to run it with standard ecu etc but gsxr throttle bodies using standard injectors; my bike tuning mate says he can rig up a power commander which is a bike ecu in effect to take care of mappable fueling. As far as i can see there is little difference in the two types of engine and the later type doesn`t need altering so has to be a bonus. Opinion only and i may well be wrong tho.

theres very little to chose from, infact the dizzy in the xe isnt much of a dizzy, true it distributes the sparks, but it has no advance gubbings and is only actually a camshaft phase sensor

just bought some gsxr750 tb - full set up with manifold cossy trumpets etc from a guy with a locost - would be interested to see how you get on with the bike fueling as i'll be needing an ecu. but all of them seem stupidly expensive by the time youve added rolling road time.
been looking at megasquirt but looks a bit daunting to me...
i cant really afford to do anything with them at the moment as the other car needs work doing on it - i use a holden hsv as a work car (foolishly?!) and i need to get bushes / top mounts etc done asap so moneys tight for a few weeks :-(

i think you will get there before me, still on bodywork at mo. the ecu as such will be a power commander ( about 250 quid i believe; )dont know much about it but oddy assures me that it will work. He tunes bike engines for a living and seems to know what hes on about . if you need advice i will dig out his number, but the company is called dynobike in malton if you want to look it up , good luck .

Do you mean an Apexi Power FC? The Power Commander is a handheld programmer/controller for it.
The Power FC was a lot more expensive the last time I looked!
