View Full Version : Loton Park Hillclimb 19th May
Got the final instructions today. I see there is a good entry of Escorts at the venue.:)
Yes I saw that - it'll be good to be in a proper class and not an amalgamated one for this one :thumb:
Apparently I've also got a fan club coming to Loton to cheer me on :bolt: :bolt: :bolt:

How many rounds are you doing in 2007? ALL of them?

I best make sure of doing the 8 then!:fight:
Hmmm, might be another wet one by the looks of it!
When is everyone travelling up? I'm going Friday, visit to pub in the evening or a BBQ if the weather is nice.:thumb:
Just got back from Loton Park. Excellent venue & good competition both days.
Sat I was competing with 6 cars in class & i managed to beat 3 of them including a Z cars Honda Vtec powered rwd mini. Pretty chuffed with that. Gavin had some good competition in his class on the day & there were two other escorts we think might be coming to play in the the Old Fords Championship soon. A very tidy white MK1 & a beige RS2000.
Sunday I ended up marshalling for the very first time ever. I spent the day on a very fast bit of the hill. One guy in a single seater had a big crash right in front of us as a result of losing all his coolant onto one of his back tyres. Went off the track at about 100mph into the tyres. He was OK but went off to hospital for a check up on his back. I was very impressed by the speed that all the medics & marshalls came to the scene & got it all cleared up ready to carry on with the event.
Some very nice Old Fords again today, a MK1 Lotus Cortina, A MK1 Escort with lotus twincam & the white MK1 again from Saturday.
All in all a top weekend. See what you are missing:thumb:
Some pictures courtesy of the BBC. It was only wet in practice - dried out for the timed runs

Lovely bit of kit that. It runs an A series mini engine in the back driving the rear wheels. It might only be a little engine but it's very quick.:thumb:
