Help!!

Just fitted an XE into a mk2 escort on a wcxm and fitted the gearbox today.

It seems the engine sits too high as i've had to take the top off the gearbox tunnel so the gearbox fits in.

the 'box sits nearly 3 inches higher than with a pinto, is this normal?

any help would be appreciated as i'm fast getting fed up with it now. ta:confused:

What gearbox you using? Manta ? Or type 9 with ford to vauxhall bellhousing?
You using the right sump mant a i think..? and right mounts? engine has to be on a 7 degree angle if/when using manta gearbox
