Anyone here has an indepth guide into this conversion? Want to get it started in the new year, but wunna do less errors with this conversion, so it would finish alot quicker and wouldnt spend any foolish money on things that just wouldnt fit.
thanks for your time.

I think you are gonna have to chop the bulkhead back. But what really dictates the posn is the water pump. There were loads of different models the lump was fitted to, but the shortest pump is the old P6 model (before the SD1). You want to get one of these and fit it to the block and offer it up. I 'd try that first.

its not actually a very common swap, so you will struggle to find an indepth guide to fitting one,
unless your getting into tuning them they arnt actually very powerfull in the first place in 3.5 form they had
135bhp low comp
155bhp high comp
190 bhp efi
so any number of ford engines which will fit easier will give just as much performance

I had one in the 1980's and it was a awesome beast, the hp was not that great but the torque was awesome it could spin the wheels in 3rd at 40mph!!
Its a hell of a conversion though the bulkhead on mine was back nearly 6 inches and I was sat behind the door pillar!!!!
talk with neil at nts m8,he has the white twinturbo one fitted in his mk2 escort,he will advise you on what you need to do m8.
i fitted a 3.9 in my mk2 and apart from the time involved there is no rocket science needed. as someone has said the p6 pump is shorter, also i ran mine with cast manifolds for many years because of the space . but it is not much to sit down and make good flowing ones. as i have changed bits over the years i have still got all odds and sods..if any good
