Good pic of dad there Will..
Yes I think you can do it on a national b stage licence, I hope BMC, do more Hill Climbs up there.

hope its better than it looks on the site, 4 corners 2 of which are chicanes made from laybuys:confused:.
i didnt recognise anything but its 10 years since i was up there:lol:
i have camped at 4 ways many times in my younger days.(the assault course pissed was always fun)

14-02-2008, 12:08
it may look simple but everyone had positive comments of it last year, so im the course does it's job! it used the burma road as a traffic section to link back to 4ways bridge via the german village which was also good fun!!!!!:D

Wayne,

Tried the B&B you mention - fully booked. It seems there is some university student "map reading" event on at the weekend which could explain why the 20 or so places we've tried are all full.

Looks like we'll be camping:thumb:

Gutted about matt's 'box, but better to preserve the equipment than risk dumping all its contents on the deck! He'd made a big improvement too after his first run, and he reckoned there was plenty more to come, oh well there's next year! We will be removing the offending gearbox tomorrow, so will let you all know what the problem was.

Bad news is my blooming Race Technology DL1 data logger still isn't recording anything so I've no terminal speeds or anything else.

On board Video was working though, so I'll post some footage tomorrow.

Yes was good to meet you all today. Some more candidates for the Old Ford Class in the Midland Speed Championship perhaps?

I got my time down to 63 seconds in the end, no improvement on my final run because I still couldn't sight the braking point for the last bend. You locals are fast - but 3 seconds faster comes with living nearby I guess

What a fantastic hill - has to rate as one of the highest on the list so far - and the 4 mile drive back to the paddock on the twisty back roads across the moors was something too - couldn't resist playing with the throttle a bit there.

And some great friendly competition too - will definitely be back next year.:thumb::);)

Went to go and watch and found they wanted £10 to get in  So I told them that I didn't want to race, it was only to watch!

So I had to turn around and go home, weather looked ideal. Some nice roads up that way.

I found the Rotary club people that where collecting very unhelpful.

A tenner! Wow, no idea they were charging for entry. Would they not even take a donation?

As I said very unhelpful.

I knew 2 people taking part, so I asked the way to the pits. Thought I would see if someone could get me in, but they said no one was allowed in without paying.

I just paid up, was well worth it anyway, a tenner isn't a lot in my opinion, and it probably costs the club a lot to use the area and facilities. Was very well run and some fantastic cars! It was £10 per car anyway, so if you were on foot you wouldn't have been charged, could have parked elsewhere and walked down :thumb:

glad you all had a good day, i was hoping to have got there but no one else was interested and weather was lousy here (obviously not there:doh:)

that in car shot is good in that it shows some of the nature of the epynt roads , ie like an old wooden rollercoaster !!

and the bloke in the boot sounded happy too

Had a fantastic day yesterday, great to meet fellow Turbosporters.

The venue and the running of the event was superb and rates as my favourite hillclimb so far, roll on next year:clap::cool:

Was gutted my day ended early when my box wouldn't stay in 2nd gear but I didn't want to end it with a big hole in the box.

Good news is it's out already and it's only a broken thrust washer so should have it fixed by the end of the week.

The standard of cars there was great and we were never going to win with so much local knowledge and local Nutters:D but it was fantastic.

Cheers

Matt

Hi everyone,

I'm a member of the organising club (Brecon Motor Club) and was out competing yesterday. We were lucky with the weather and I think pretty much all the competitors went home with smiles on their faces. Well done to the organisers for a great event and thanks to the marshals for their help.

Last year we ran it at a loss to get it up and running. Hopefully this year we will have broken even or even made some profit. We can't make money from spectator's parking (I wish we could but it's something to do with the conditions under which the MOD let's us use Epynt) so we ask organisations such as the Rotary Club to provide people to marshal spectator car parks and in return the money collected goes to charity. If we didn't do that spectators would park anywhere and everywhere and the whole event would become chaos. If I remember correctly I think BMC donated it's share of the car park money last year to the Mid Wales Air Ambulance, a service we hope never to have to call on....

Hope to see you there again next year, get your entries in early ;)

Cheers,
Gary (Car 28)
