hi all
does anyone have in depth pics and or plans of how to fab a tunnel and bulkhead:banana:

bulkhead and floor cut and 2.8 wit 5speed box in place...just not got a clue where to start wit the welder like:D:D

IMO the best thing to do is find an existing one like from an old crapi. just cut it out and make it fit! The benefits being you get all the little captive nuts and stiffener mouldings already there and I think it looks better than a folded up piece of tin. Its also a hell of a lot easier than folding up the said piece of tin. Just a quick q though, why the 2.8 when there are loads of 2.9's about for beer money?

i was thinking of buying a 2.9 cosworth granny that way i would have ecu loom the lot and now with that i could cut out the bulkhead and tunnel
does the 5 speed box from the 2.8 go on the 2.9 with a flywheel change...should do i think as long as its six bolt crank.

yes all the 2.8 bits will bolt onto the back of the cossie motor, but the gearbox will be way over its design limits, it may be ok in a small light car without much grip if your not to vicious with it though.

Pop-ups right, the 2.8 box is weedy! Most poeple seem to opt for the mt70 or T5 although there has been some effort into using a skyline box on the cos 24v. Have a rifle round the ford power forum if you need some pointers on boxes. The granny will have a tunnel for an autobox best to get one from whatever car you get the box from that way you'll get a good fit.

aye never though about the box like as 200 bhp should be pumping through it and my right foot is very vicious :bolt: :D i will av`e a look at what box is in there thou i suspect an old 2.8 granny box.
i take it the engine mounts should just bolt back onto the four hiles on the cozzy block

yeah standard cologne mounts will fit the 24v, its heavier though so if the rubbers are soggy it may sit a bit low. the MT75 box comes in V6 rwd form in germany so ebay.de might turn one up, otherwise you need to get a hybrid built from the front half of a 4x4 box and the rear of a 2wd as the bellhousing isnt removable.

its worth noting the 24v is wider at the top as well so if space is tight in your bay you may have problems, in my cortina for example the heater box gets in the way on the passenger side while a 12v will fit straight in.

as it happens i just noticed this ad for a box on this very site, i know barry as well, he's a good lad, will be able to help with lots of 24v stuff
