does the MK5 rs 2000 engine have anything in common with the duratec / zetec? I've got the chance of getting one.

No relation to the zetec or duratec, its based on the 8V DOHC engine fitted to later sierra's and granada's. it will bolt up to a type-9 box and sump etc off a sierra 8V will fit it, so if its the right price i'd go for it. Their 150bhp, so just as quick as a zetec.

They have been fitted to Mk 1Escorts etc before but are heavier than the ZETEC and DURATEC and performance parts are rare so therefore expensive.
Great head :thumb: and if you can get hold of a 2.3 granada engine(i think its the granada) you can bolt the head on that and have a nice 16v 2.3 :cool:
