Painting chrome door handles???

My mk2 escort came with chrome door handles and bumpers and i want to change them to black! Is there a process to doing this or is it just a matter of roughin them up! I was told that i would never get paint to stick and it would keep flaking off! :confused:
Am i better off try to buy black ones?

Also where would i pick black gutter rails?

i painted my chrome door mirror black and the paint has stuck to it like shit on a blanket. first i rubbed it down to take the shine off it, etch primed it and then satin black looks great :thumb:

Thats legend mate. I didnt want to do it till i knew the paint would stick! cheers!!!

Id paint them as i sold a set of black handles the other week for £52!!!!
