How far back can the Duratec be laid? Thinking of tilting it back in FWD car for better weight distribution. I guess so long as the oil pickup pipe can find oil, it doesn't really matter.

They have oil gallerys built into both sides of the block from top to bottom so that shouldnt be a problem :thumb:
Nothing hangs out of the bottom of the block either so a custom "upright" sump would be possable too.

Focus wrc rallycars have them lying down at about 45 deg just by looking at it, they ,might have modified the oil return galleries though, I would have a look at the size of the return galleries and if it looks big enough and there is nowhere where the oil could collect around the valves don't worry about it, especially if your only lying it over 10 or 15 degrees.
