Hi gang,
I keep running into problems in getting the 2,8er 4i turbo up and running. I've had to replace the new headgasket for another new one  .I've know idea why the new gasket deteriorated on the N/S cylinderhead. I suspect it was down to not using coolant, just straight water. The reason being is that the Cossie rad does not seem to adapt well with the Cologne engine,or the rad could be duff, kept on spewing out of the header. So I replumbed in the original 4i rad again, but had it placed outside of the vehicle, all is well. So anyway,I've got everything built back up and plumbed in and the boost gauge is reading 0.5 bar,7.25psi. Is this reading correct, seems high?

When does it read that?

Depending on what has been done to the engine (fuelling, ignition etc.) it can be too low, too high or just right ;-)

I'm going to have to check if I'm reading the gauge right,it could be minus 0.5bar which will be vacuum

about 7psi is normal for a 200hp bolt on kit with no engine mods.
mine runs a standard radiator with no problems allthough i do have a pair of manually operated electric fans as well.
as far as head gasket issue, if you use cheap aftermarket head gaskets you will pop them.
you need to fit original Reinz gaskets.
hope this helps..

it is minus 0.5,when revved it goes to 0. I now know that it is best to be driven to get the accurate reading.

According to the brochure on my Eichberg setup,it suppose to be 0,35 bar (5psi). But apparently the KKK 3 LKZ which is on my Cologne produces more,I'll have to see once on a RR.

I've just fitted a Cossie rad and fans, had problems before but seems to work alright so far

hope this helps..
certainly does,thanks

What set up have you got on yours Bob?

You will never get any boost unless you load the engine, drive it that is.

Revving in neutral will not give anything useful.
