Dont know about the arrow ones but the Cosworth rods are cromo rods. So lighter and stronger than the original ones.

Always wondered about the difference between rods (apart from weight) really are they all not overspecced so just about any will do for around 300bhp

Yes, almost any will do to 300bhp. And any I've seen seem to be advertised to cope with 9000rpm's.

The difference is in weight ,as you said, and in production quality. How tight is the quality controll. How well balanced are the sets and induvidual rods. Have they been crack tested. With magnaflux or sonic methods. i think those things are the ones that make the difference.
