View Full Version : My Mk1 Mexico has to go...
I'm sorry to say that the plans for my Mex have to be shelved...I will be out of a job on Monday and need to sell the old girl asap. Mail me for more info...I'm looking around £750 which includes a 2.0 pinto block.:(
Sorry to hear about the job, back luck.
What condition is the Mexico in and have you got any current photos.
The bodywork is good, but the front floor section needs replacing for MOT (there are 3 or 4 small plates to get it through the last couple of years). There are few old MOTs & receipts, and the car drives well. The brakes are a bit soggy, but I'm sure a new master cylinder and new fluid would cure that.
Mail me for some pics...although one is a larger version of my siggy.:-)
I have mailed your address in your profile.
I'll do it asap...my IT service at work is cack! Outlook is hanging big time!
Sorry to hear that Jeff, i knew you had big plans for the old girl.
Magrah
My mail has died at work...I'll send asap.
I gathered a load of bits...most I've got rid of, but I still have the pinto block...major bummer. :-(
Why don't you upload the pictures on here ?
Ok!

Thats a real bummer mate, looks like a nice motor wish I had the dough! What is the spare block, a 205? What else you got lying around, I am only down the road.
Jeff,
Don't do it! you'll only regret it, I did when I sold my Series X to Big Dave, now I am looking for a Mk1 or Mk2 RS2 should have just kept the bloody X! Always the way!
Magrah
That's it I'm afraid...I'm not sure about the block...it's Clint's old RS2000 block.
Well with Clint's heavy right foot that's it! Only kidding, I think your pretty local, i'd be tempted to have a look at that price but i'm really looking for a RS2.

Another Car sold of this site tops http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif
Yep, thanks to everyone involved...and I'm glad you thought the car was as I described it. I've also looked at 'mint' cars and then found them very average.:) Only thing is I now need to change my siggy!
jeff i will let you know how he gets on he has allready found some standard wings for £25 each (brandnew) which he will add the mex arches to and all the other repair panels needed.
i have been offered another mex that sounds very good which we will be looking at just incase it needs less work that your one needs. its a shame the interior is in such poor condition as this will be the most expensive bit to get sorted,
cheers

but i did buy my self some 13"x8" steel wheels with michelin slicks for a bargain £50 http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif and we have a lead on another mk1 thats sounds promising will let you know if the mex comes on the market.

Duncan,
Do you lnow if anything has been done to it? as the price has gone up since last time.
Whereabouts in Herts is the car? would like to take a look.
mark some of the welding has been done and quite a few of other jobs as well also i think he has some extra parts needed, he lives in high wycombe bucks i think he wants to sell because the car is a bit too much work for him to take on... and he is thinking he would be better off saving up more cash and buying a better car to start with.. this car is a job for a guy thats handy with the mig welder....
cheers
