My current project is to restore some 80's nostalgia back to motorsport with a fully sorted Escort RS1600i.

Pictures can be viewed at http://www.antjones.com/escort/rs1.html

Take a look and help me choose the colour !!

Thanks
Tony.

Looking good Tony http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif

We are developing the main section of Turbosport at the moment and we have a restorations section. Fancy having your 16i in there ??

Hiya m8,
Sandblasting was done as a favour, which cost me £40 to have the whole job done. I did get quotes from other companys which were around the £80 - £100 mark. It was done by a place in Collins Green, which is near Burtonwood Warrington. If you need any further info..... name / tel no.etc I can get it and e-mail it to you. Very good job - but bear in mind the shell was completely bare - not a nut and bolt anywhere.

Should look great when its finished, I would love to build a S1 Rally car, but have lack of time, funds and Space.

I dont know if this is going to be any help to you, but I have got a Build manual for the Mk3 Escort Turbo Group N and Group A cars. Has alot of the Suspension geometry aswell as all where the cable linkage for the gearbox is supposed to go through the bulkhead. Also has the original Part numbers for alot of the rally parts. Some might be the same for the RS1600i.
If you do need any info from this manual, E-mail me and I will see about copying it for you.

Thanks for the offer - My mate already has that book and I sort of use it as my bible!! Very interesting and good on technical details, but I also know one of the guys who originally built and developed the Ford Rally team racers back in the 80's. So with a combination of all the knowledge and my enthusiasm we should see the project through !!
