View Full Version : Limited Slip Diff
How could I tell if my 2wd Saff's LSD is knackered?
Also, I read recently that they shouldn't do the brake test on the rollers at MOT time as it locks one wheel and spins the other.
Thoughts?
Does it whine when accelerating / decelerating ? If so then the bearings in the diff casing may be worn, your looking at £150 to have new bearings fitted (inc labour).
If your going to take the diff out, why not buy a Quaife ATB diff, a 2wd has a 7.5" rear diff, you'll need new flanges also, £685 +VAT for all the bits, around £150 to get it fitted with new bearings.
Why not do a wheel spin and check you get two black lines http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif

I always test em by doing doughnuts http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I span my wheels on my gravel drive today and it left two marks, but last time I wheelspan on the road it only left one long one.
Doughnuts kill diffs.http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/clint.gif http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif
