Nice looking bike wes! But what floats your boat more? The car or Bike?
oh thats tricky! I use the bike daily,to and from work. The acceleration is VERY fast, the brakes don't fill you with confidence when slowing from 100+ MPH speeds, but it's a buzz leaning it for some long sweeping corners, but it doesn't feel as fast as the cossie when doing the same, i get more of a rush when in the cossie, if that makes any sense? The bike is very fun to ride, if i didn't have it i would have gone insane by now with the car being off the road for soo long before.
So, in short, the car is my favourite, the bike is a very close second.

my ex-boss had one of them, 750 K reg one (think it was a SRAD?) and gave me a go of it, i only weigh 8.5 stone ish so u can imagine how it chucked me about lol i wasnt over impressed with the 750 cos he has a F reg 1100 gixer and i had a go of that, (bearing in mind i was 19, am 22 now, just got my first cossie and thaught i was the fastest thing on gods green earth in a stage 1 saff lol) i was in 3rd gear doing 60mph and went to overtake a metro on the dual cabbage way so i thaught i`d give it a bit, flipped the visor down and flung myself on the tank, and gave it about 3 quarters throttle it roared a hell of a growl (baffles cut out of standard stainless cans!) and monstered the front wheel right up! i nearly crapped a brick! i rammed the back brake on and it slapped me on the deck with a slight tank slapper and i never went above 50 mph again! the metro overtook me and i turned round at the roundabout and went back to the garage, Paul (my boss) saw the whole thing and could do nothing but laugh!!! he told me to slide back, he put his lid on and took me out on it, i have never been so scared in all my life! 165mph 2 up on a large bike is VERY scary!
i had only rode a 400blade, a 600blade and a africa twin on the road before but this mother was in a different league!
i`d love a go of it now though
in fact....... nah i best get the escort done first lol
K reg's were the pre SRAD's m8, i used to have a 750 M (91), it was no where near as quick as the newer bikes, totally different kettle of fish

K reg wold have been the wr water cooled heavier than the early 80`s slab side! Prolly heavier than the 1100 you rode as well. They got much better with the srad new frame and engine (although a streetfightered srad does not look as good as an early one). The early ones did suffer from head gasket failure but was sorted out they are a very nice bike, when i get some dosh will be sourcing a cheapie write off for a track day bike.
I'm afraid that I know less than fook all about bikes so have to resort to the girly "Ohh, thats a nice colour" sort of comments.
It does look really mean and has gone a long way to rekindling my interest. I want to get a CBR600 as it seems a good all rounder.
I'm going to do my direct access this year, and hopefully get a bike next year. As you rightly say, it fills the void whilst the cossie is off the road!
I like your comment about which you prefer - reading it you start off obviously not being to sure, you then write down your thoughts about the two and finally come to a well considered answer.
I wish you were working with me on some of my projects at work LOL!! - at lot of people I work with just think their idea is best etc..
Well if you need someone to look after your server / workstation hardware / software or Apple Macs i'm your man, if they pay is better than what i'm on now and in the London area
Believe it or not, the gixxer 750M was cheaper to insure than a CBR600 of the same value, thats why i got one! Quicker bike and less to insure! The GSX-R range are very quick reliable bikes, i'd rather have a GSX-R 600 than a CBR600, no question. Don't even think of an R6 for a 1st bike, insurance was the same price as the bike i was going to buy, £5000

Looks nice not that I know much about em. I find it hard to ride these bikes with wonky handle bars.
If I had the money it have to be a KTM duke for me with the super sticky tyres. All the fun of a motorcrosser on the road.
Still the woods is only over the back from me and I have a 250 crosser in my garage, thats alot of fun apart from the bloody rangers.

I must find out if my engine is ready I am starting to miss the use of a bike on nice sunny afternoons
Nice SRAD, I fancy one of those next.
Got a 750M with a buggered gearbox sprocket bearing, soon to be sorted, nice bike but the later 750's are in a different league. Good thing about early GSXR's is they are affordable speed, group 14 insurance (same as a CBR600, but less to insure for some reason), pretty bulletproof, quick enough to be interesting. Look great.

My last bike was a 750M Higgsy, it was fcuking quick, I had a set of 34mm Mikuni slide throttle carbs, K+N's, full Micron stainless system, but it didn't handle or stop too well, handled like a tank, and the standard SRAD is quicker in every way, i couldn't believe how light the SRAD was in comparison
Yea m8 I'm sure you're right, SRAD is a different kettle etc.
Think I'll keep mine, suits me atm, it's pretty standard apart from a D&D carbon can & dynojet. I wanted something sensible to go to work on
Might look for a SRAD or blade nxt year to mess about with as a project. I like going quick cheaply hence the Gix, 620ti & 400RD!
