View Full Version : Starting off on a serious note
Just bought a 1998 M3 Evo, anyone had one or driven one? you'd be very suprised!
When I drove it away I was revving to about 4K and thought well this isn't very quick is it, having driven a few Mk5 RS2's I thought it would be like them the power comes in straight away and and it's pulls round.
Well this is weird, it has 321 bhp and 350 ft lbs of torque, the power does not come on full song till 4,200 ish and goes round to the rev limit at 8k. But the thing is so torquey you can drive it in low revs and it will pull in 6th from 1,200 rpm. Basically what I am trying to say is it drives like a normal car until you give it some stick. Bit like a Cossie 4x4?
Oh and it does stick to the road like shit to a blanket have given it some real stick in the dry and was pretty impressed by the grip and handling which was also better a Cos. The brakes are allot sharper as well. BUT the fun will start in the wet with those large 245's on the rear and no front wheel drive to help me!
Oh and Duncan your not having my LSD, but I know a man who does tabs cheap. And Carl pop round anytime for a butch before you ask!
Oh and also I think it's a lovely car and a bargain for the money your talking about a car that cost £43,000 4 years ago (I have the original bill of sale) it's fully loaded (although mine doessn't have cruise control or Sat Nav). The only downside is the servicing it's not cheap. Here's a pic bit crap but i'll get some better ones when the weather improves http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif
Looks very Nice Raj http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/cool.gif Does your girlfiend approve?

Mate that is one serious tool. I would love one but i think a 328i is about my limit money wise, maybe next year. Strange thing was in Autotrader this month there are two for sale both in yellow. One from a trader with about 75k for 10k and a private sale with 150k for 15k! Dunno if they are the same car/spec as yours think they were p/r reg? Does it still have a lag on the throttle like my 325i? Will try and come round soon for a proper look, and oh christ just remembered what i have not collected! http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif Can you send us an email!
cheers mate
Glad you're pleased with it m8 and you're right .... the pic IS crap http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/grin.gif
I'd like to see a pic of your "unique" interior when you get the chance.
Shas of course the Mrs Approves i wouldn;t be allowed to get it otherwise, you know what you lot are like! By the way her comment when she first saw it was "it's a bit small isn;t it, i thought it would look like a Rover 75" http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/mad.gif Can you translate please in language us chaps can understand!
Carl you have a PM, I did see a yellow one and saw a few advertised but they were just two loud for me. You can get them cheap but i wanted an Evo, full BMW S/H, one owner etc etc, so i had to pay a bit more.
Guy mate, the chap even gave me the sample of the leather that BMW gave him! It does make the car a little different! I will sort some pics soon.
LOL @ Magrah No point in asking me anymore as a 6 seater is required next year for the weekends http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/sad.gif
Cossie powered naturally!
Come to think of it I heard that Renault are selling the Espace F1!
Sharon: Don't you mean 8 seater, when you have triplets that it http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Bloody better not be triplets(will know tonmorrow http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif )
Sounds good Magrah how much is that gonna be?
Money is nothing when your talking to Clint you know he will junk the F1 engine sell it for scrap and drop a cossie lump in!
Hope all goes well today http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif
