Hello fellas and ladies(?). I've owned a '92 16v calibre for roughly 5 years now and am still pleased with it except for 1 thing. I'm having to replace the back box every year.(short journeys and rubbish replacements I guess) I was wondering if anyone knew of a stainless steel replacement that looks and preferably sounds like the original. It is a single square section job. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif Many thx... http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif
search the internet for stainless OE spec rear silencers
if that fails try peco, scorpion, janspeed, jetex, mongoose, gmax, powerflow, magnex
also you could try this place, they are vauxhall specialists

I should imagine Courtneys do one (sorry not got a number, there in Norfolk somewhere http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif ) but I have been told that they are very expensive.

Well, Ive looked about and it seems I can't get a single square section one that fits straight on. The choice seems to be a peco powermaster £122 or a peco boxer £153. Both twin square section which I didn't really want but may get. Anyway thanks for the quick replies. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/cool.gif
youll never get stainless steel to match your valver had cavs before and i always went with scorpionbest around for price and as long as its just the box their not to noisy, just dont waste your money on a peco

Yea my bro had a scorpion on his old cav gsi. Twin square pipes and fitted straight on.
What you want is a bit of this!!
I got my twin exit exhaust made by Phil Sargeant on 01935 427554 (a Powerflow dealer here in sunny Somerset)
They can make stainless exhausts in loads of styles, full sytems or back boxes, noisy or quiet. They did mine, a full system with life time gurantee and two working letter box outlets to fit the Reiger diffuser for around £300 ish.

They can prob do an OE spec backbox, but in Stainless for well under £200
Recommended.
If you go to your local car breakers yard, they should have a machine there which keeps vauxhalls quite.
