Have been offered a cheap 2.0 zetec and am considering putting it in my escort,anyone done such a conversion and got any tips etc if i do go for it i will have a lot of 2.0 ohc stuff for sale let me know you're thoughts. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

The zetec is a nice tasty lump...You have to swap the sump,oil pick up, and get a water rail made up from head..You also need all the leccy as well...
I got offered a full mk5 rs2000 last week for £200..Would of been a good donor car,it got stolen n crashed by some tea leaves,and the unlucky guy whos car it was,didnt have it insured as it was off the road.. The engines are far better as there chain driven......

Mmm i think its the way to go i spoke to the bloke who had the red mk2 estate in classic ford the other night and he can supply most of the conv bits including the rad etc was a very nice bloke. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif

I am looking at the same conversion - I take it from above that some zetec engines are different - chain drive and belt drive? will they both mate up to my RS bellhousing?
