Yes but that is such an old Porsche give it a bit of credit, I would rather have the Porsche than a BUCKET golf, what a crap car.

Exactly...and the Golf would have had the knackers tuned off it while the Porsche was probably standard.

For the sake of being pedantic;
Actually until the Boxster came along a 928 was the only "Real Porsche"
It was the only car that was built from scratch without raiding the rest of the VW Audi parts bins. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/moon.gif
As for how they go, I had a 1981 928S Manual Sportpack with all the toys, I now have a 330+hp 3 door cossie, personally I think the Porsche was quicker, hard to tell without getting them back to back, and I doubt there was much in it.
I have driven the Auto's and Manual versions of these and there is a massive difference, it was an awesome car for not a lot of money, and at the end of the day it was a real thoroughbred not just summat ordinary that had been heavily modified, however the 9mpg it returned when driven hard with aircon on was evil http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/clint.gif
