Hello All!

The thermo's gone on my cos and I'm gonna do it myself

*waits for everyone to come round after fainting*

Is it easy peasy japanesey.

Go to poundstretcher they do a nice tartan Thermos for £1.99....i heard that should fit well for you..ROFL

Changing the thermostat itself is very easy, remove the radiator hose on the exhasut side of the engine (water everywhere), then undo the 3 bolts holding the thermostat cover on (more water), take the cover off and replace the thermostat. Then put it all back on and bleed the system when re-filling the coolant system by taking out the bolt/bung in the top of the thermostat cover, fill up header tank slowly until water starts coming out of the hole in the thermostat cover, refit bolt, then continue to fill up. Then run the engine with the header cap removed unitl the fans kick in, and then switch off and leave until it all cools down. Then refit the header cap and run until fans kick in again.

But if you want to do it properly, you need to flush the coolant system as well, and replace with new antifreeze / water (50/50 mix).

lol @ Guin. Like there's any chance of it being hot. Tis gonna take a good few days of charging til the battery has enough for a whimper. One day I swear I'll sort out my power drain!
