View Full Version : Urgent help needed please Im desperate!!!!!!!
I have a S2 Escort RS Turbo running a low compression engine ( 7.5:1 ) The problem I have is when the Turbo spools up and the car comes on boost, rather than being shot down the road a F*** Me mph the car jolts and actually slows down quite violently. The Turbo is spinning ok, the dump valve still goes like a goodun, but it seems to be doing the opposite to what it should be.
Im running 10 psi of boost if that helps!!!!!

you need more than 10psi mon a low comp engine
are you sure the boost hoses arent collapsing?
The car isn't misfiring, the boost hoses are not colapsing it just doesn't seem to be getting any air into the engine on boost.

run a pipe from under the bumper to your air filter!
Thats a good point actually cuz I haven't attatched my cold air feed back on yet!!!!!
Does anyone know where the pipe goes that comes off the Actuator, I think I may have out the wrong one it!!!
Check the boost hose between the turbo and the air filter, as these get splits in but can be hard to see.
Lee
Check all your boost hoses and vacuum hoses and breather hoses are all on SECURELY with no splits......also change your fuel filter if you haven't already done so.
If it still does it get it to a garage and get them to set the mixture....about 2.5%CO is aboput right. If that still doesnt cure it get it to a specialists who know about the KE jet.
Could this problem be caused by the mapping?
Could be Fuel Supply??? check to see if the fuel pressure drops when the problem occours.
Possibility if you can't find a fault with induction system? what does the turbo pressure do?
Turbo spools up comes on boost but I dont think that the ECU can deal with it. Its gone from a normal RS engine to a 1.7 low compression engine so I think it just needs re mapping.
someone has already asked this but is it chipped???
because it sounds to me as if its hitting overboost protection.
