Just thought I would let you into what has been happening with my RST lately.
Well, as you know, I have a track day booked for next Saturday 14th June and wanted my car setup for the event.
So I dropped Karl Norris an email on Sunday night asking if he could get my car setup and tweeked a bit on Wednesday, really expecting him to be busy, but he mailed back saying no probs http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/laugh.gif.
I had Wednesday booked off work anyway, had to go to the dredded dentists in the morning anyway http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/sad.gif.
I took Rick down who knows Karl a bit better than me, for a bit of a laugh. Drove the 150 ish miles from mine to Coventry no probs at all, had a little play on the M6 with a Civic Type R, I really expected them to be quick http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/confused.gif, but they don't seem to be.
Got there, found Karls house, and he took us for some dinner first http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif. Then got started on the car. Checked EVERYTHING over first, unplugged all connectors, checked them and plugged them all back in.
Made a few mods which I had asked for http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/wink.gif. Set my cam up properly, which I fitted about 2 years ago!. The bloody thing was 13 degrees out http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/blush.gif!! Wondered why my car had so much lag. Carried on with the setup and took it for a test drive, he came back unhappy, so he reajusted the cam timing to how it was, and it was still crappy.
Ended up finding the fault was my knock sensor - dodgy wire!!. Fixed that and test drove it again.
You should have seen all the electrical gubbins he plugged into it for the tests - lambda sensors, and other stuff I have no idea what they were, but looked expensive.
He came back - after a while, smiling http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smile.gif.
Let me take it for a drive, FOOOKKK MEEEE. it was like a diferent car alltogether. Breaks traction on gearchanges, no noticeable lag at all.
Showed me the fueling and it actually richens up a little at the top - unusual but nice http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/smirk.gif. So I have plenty of fuel, no running lean on this baby.
it now hits 20psi and holds 18, picks up like you wouldn't believe (well for an RST anyway) and is all round a totally better car.
So I would definately reccomend Karl Norris of Norris Motorsports. He is a genius with the CVH.
