Chipping an S2

I have an 89 Erst with 40k on the clock. Its booked in to get a 195 chip by turbosystems next week. I've been told by Turbosystems that the car should make approx 195bhp however everyone I speak to says it will only make around 160 - 170 bhp. The car also has a full mongoose , pipercross and bailey twin piston dump valve. The car will run at approx 1 bar of boost. I would be inclined to believe the 160 - 170bhp figure. Most of the 195 chips that are available will all only give around 160/170 bhp, in a few rare cases they produce 180/190, but this is normally with Larger intercooler, hybrid turbo, bigger exhaust, more fuel, cam, and possible some head work.

To give you an idea how much difference the Intercooler and exhaust makes, when i was running 1 bar on my standard S1 intercooler with a small 2 1/2" magnex exhaust, the max bhp i got was 160bhp, After i changed to a 4x4 cossie intercooler and a 4" magnex exhaust i got 195 bhp.

Thats a hell of a difference..........what sort of money would a 4x4 cossie i'cooler be and are they hard to fit, do they require any cutting. I was goin to go for a pace one cos they fit straight in but the cossie one sounds good.

They fit really easy on the S2, somewhere on here there was a post about fiting one to a S2, the worts bit i think was getting one end changed. I will ahve to have a look back through some of the old posts and see is i can find it.
