View Full Version : S2 cam
My mate has just bought a piper 285T2 cam for his series 2, and wants to fit it without taking the head off, is there any way of holding the valves in place while the valve springs are changed or will he just have to take the head off?
Cheers

Turn the engine over so what ever spring your are taking off that piston is at the top that will stop the valve falling out.

Seriously m8, get him to take it back and get the PIPER 285 cam, NOT the T2!!
It's a pile of shite!
I am going back to a standard ford one for mine
Cheers for the advice guys.
Adam, what sort of problems did you have with the T2, I have actually heard before that they're not much good but my m8 mistakenly thinks it will give him upwards of 25 bhp on one bar of boost. The car has only done 29k so the standard cam should be in good shape, I'll advise him to leave it as it is.
Thanks,
John
I am in the market for a cam as I am rebuilding a S2 engine for my rally car. i need a cam for torque as the engine won't get to rev like an unrestricted car. should I just stay with the standard?
