Re: Alloy Front Hubs-Differences
So I ask someone.............
"Hi Roger,
This hub definitely looks like a Gartrac item (the Rallydesign and Peter
Lloyd Rally items are finished off a little differently) but as to the type
of hub it is a little hard to say from the photo. It could be a large
bearing Group 4 hub, but I can't tell from this photo if it takes Group 4
studs or normal studs (the hubs which take Group 4 studs are chamferred on
the other side for the bolt, whereas they don't do that for normal studs). I
know Gartrac do 3 types of hubs :
- Standard Alloy Group 4 hub (in both a Group 4 stud or a normal stud)
- Large bearing Group 4 hub (the bearing I believe is much larger, but the
internal race still suits the Capri/RS stub axle)
- RS 2000 Alloy hub (ie standard offset and studs)
Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
Yes. the Group 4 hubs do give a wider track by approx 10 mm each side (fromover the standard items, I confirmed this with David Bignold at
Gartrac.
This to accept the wider atlas axel.
