Re: talk to me about: turreting the rear end
If you were to do it that way the axle would want to act in an arc rather than straight up and down so i dont think it would work

Re: talk to me about: turreting the rear end
ah, it would bend the prop aye?
so the geometry on a fully linked axle ensures it still moves vertically then?
-
Re: talk to me about: turreting the rear end
No the uj's would take up the movement.
But it would be just as bad as leaf springs for a lot of extra work. Because with a 4 link the axle is held with 2 movable joints either side, as the axle goes up and down it will stay with the geometry its set at rest provided the bars are equal length and parallel to eachother

Way too much free time
Re: talk to me about: turreting the rear end
Your also forgetting the piece of angle iron under a Fiesta twists, and an axle dosnt .. so it you mounted it solid . which basicly your describing a solid ladder bar.. as the car goes round a corner and the body rolls the axle would resist the roll like a massive antiroll bar .. = bad
