P14 vs P16 question

silly question time, p14 and P16 Giriling callipers, Or "M" series for that matter, is the pitch of the mounting lugs the same, so I can directly replace 14s with 16s????

Mounting pitch is the same for all those calipers. But the P16 and M16 are larger calipers and will only clear with the later offset hubs like those fitted to Mk2 Cortina/capri/ Excort Mex and RS. In the case of the M16, that has a larger mount bolt hole too, so you need the bolts with the Metric dia shank with imperial thread if fitting to Cortina mk1/2 Capri Corsair. Available from many sources. Plus the M16 also used metric brake fittings.
