Excellent and mental build
Excellent and mental build
It's getting there Alan , going to be awesome !!
would it not have been better to run braided stainless hose through the sills. I would be concerned about the solder joint leaking with all the vibration and movement of the car. it looks really good though.nice job.
08 ford mustang 4.0l v6 4.10 gears5 speed auto vortech sc 16psi intercooled custom intake/meth inj.
Thanks Russ, chipping away at it.
Rampant, Yes i would rather run a hose in one piece but ive not seen aeroquip or similar in 1 1/4 inch i.d. (32mm)
I cant find it in the summit site either , which is a shame cos i am going to the states in 3 weeks and could bring it back with me.
Do you know a supplier, i need 1@5m and 1 @ 3.5m, Black would be nicer too
Thanks
8.5 meters of that size would be about $50.00 a meter. best do what your doing lol.

1974 MK1 Escort - Work in Progress
Looking mint
The best bit now :-)
What wheels will it be running narrow revolutions?
Screaming 1300 mexico rep
Thanks mark, not as mint as yours !!!!
Joe, the wheels are to be 6 x 16 Peugeot steels sleeper style
Excellent as usual Alan , will it be ready this summer ?
Fantastic work, such a different project and everything is so well thought out. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Lookin' good.
if it aint broke, break it!
Bit more progress.
The fuel tank is from a 2004 Pontiac and the in tank pump only puts out 58psi has a built in pressure regulator and no return facility.
My engine needs 55psi off boost but will need more fuel pressure as the boost rises.
Took the pump apart, blocked off the regulator, and tested with some spare pipe and guage . Got 80+psi
Refitted in tank and put tank in car.
Scrapped the steel frame i had made as i found some ali that was a lot lighter.
Been investigating the gearbox and found there is not enough depth for the BMW torque converter
The gearbox is Range Rover with 15mm adapter plate then the Lotus belhousing
The BMW converter bolts to a modified flex plate then a 1mm spacer and the skimmed Lotus flywheel.
All that lot means i need another 10mm spacer plate to go between the belhousing and engine, need to get it milled out to shape.
I guvking love how this is coming together bud! Using imagination, your head and making use of all you have to hand, ford, lotus, BMW, landy, Pontiac, nice. And the simple regulator bypass on the pump to allow yourself to get away with using the Pontiac pump. Good man.
Cracking build this fella.
What front discs are you running please??
Thanks Deathproof, i am a bit tight when it comes to some things, so would rather do bits myself or use standard items over paying a lot of money for performance parts, as they usually do the same job.
4parajon, the discs are off of a V6 Peugeot 405 coupe 305mm i think.
Might seem premature but need to sort the headlining whilst i can still turn the car over.
Didnt want to do this overhead, so nows a good a time as any.
Laid the Granada Scorpio headlining in place to check where it fits and where it does not. (its the one that came with the roof)
Cut off the bits that were proud and filled in the gaps round the edges with polythene then paper mache over the lot right upto the edges
Will build up another layer tomorrow.
Hi Puddy,
I know where your coming from but the angle of the shot makes it look worse.
If you look at the nearside steering arm, thats a better reflection of the angle.
Not ideal but the rack couldnt go anywhere else and It does not lock out on full lock .
When is your beast hitting the roads again ??
Have you taken the springs off and done a bump steer test ?
Robbo showed me how to do that one
Mine is still enjoying the Garage scene , lol.
Probably would have bumped into you at the swap meet this Sunday ,
but my boy has an u15's quarter final cup match ...............and I am the manager ,doh !
puddy
Have not taken springs off to do the test but when set straight with the car in the air , the wheels stayed straight when i lowered it to the ground with the engine and box in .
Should do it properly i suppose.
Shame about the swap meet but its probably going to rain anyway.
Good luck with the match
Looking great! Its amazing how much further on a project looks once you run brake and fuel lines
