Re: World cup x/members ?
Yes I would say the RACE one if you want quality and value for money, but if money is no object then Gartrac has to be the best

Re: World cup x/members ?
So what the difference between a Grp 4 world cup cross member and a normal world cup cross member, and don't say it's got lowered rack mounts, cos you can get both with them??

Re: World cup x/members ?
What I was told is just that its got extra bracing and strength over the normal one. Welds and gusseting will be different for the added rigidity also. The basic pricnciples are the same, just stronger and heavier duty. So I was told anyway. Your best best is to ring the Squire brothers for detailed advice...

Re: World cup x/members ?
hi dave just a quick question on those gartrac bolts for the
wcxm . do you have to have those sleeves wielded in or do
you just drill a hole in top of the rail the same size as the sleeve and then drop the sleeve in , also are the sleeves the
right lengh or do they need cutting down.
cheers lee

Re: World cup x/members ?
The sleeves need a 16mm hole drilling in the top part if the chassis only and they can be loose fitted or welded in.
Welded is best as they will stay put when the bolts are out.

Re: World cup x/members ?
Nice memory Rob!
Also if you are going to use them then drill the hole from the bottom if you dont want to weld them in. Imagine dropping one into the chassis!
As Rob says you need a 16mm hole to get them in and it would be better to weld them onto a plate first, just to stop them falling into the rail. They also come cut to the right length.
Have to be honest, I never fitted them in the end as I didnt want to drill the holes that big. I just drilled out to the dia of the bolt and used the square washer/plate at the top and a large penny washer at the bottom. So I wasted my money really, DOH!! But they can be fitted after if required, just drill out the top hole and drop them in.
