Another victim of the failing US economy

Well, The US economy has finally hit home. I was laid off my job on Friday. I have been hearing rumors that it was going to happen eventually and it just got to the point that I wanted it over with. Be careful of what you wish for... So now I have the to figure out if I am going to stay here in California or move on to somewhere else. I have been wanting to move to Sydney Australia for a long time. Maybe I should take this opportunity to do so. Anyway, I hope you all are doing better where ever you may reside. At least now I have a lot of time to work on the Pinto

Sorry to hear it. Alot of people being made redundant in this country. Try to turn it around into a positive if you can.

Are you in the sort of industry that's still got vacancies elsewhere, or is your whole sector struggling?

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes, it is a bugger! But you are right, and I am going to look at it as an opportunity. For what, I don't know yet. I am going to take some time to sort out a few projects here at home while the state of California pays my wages. Don't get me wrong, I am going to look for work but while I look I am taking advantage of the time. The Pinto has been non-operational for 28 years now (I got it 2 1/2 years ago) and it is time for it to see the road so I intend to focus on completing the car as soon as possible.
