    babies on holiday advice....

This may sound a very very stupid question, but what is it best to do when going on holiday with respect to 'baby' items?? Little one is 13 months & having never taken her abroad on holiday before we were wondering what it is best to take with us [with regard to carrying it all & luggage space - I am down to 1/50th of a suitcase ] & what is best to buy when there?!?!?

& any other things we should be thinking of.....

Like I said, bit of a question but all advice/opinions greatly recieved

    PS - going to Ibiza.

Sianne was 10 weeks old when she first went aboard and that was to Amsterdam and she was 5 months when she went to New york.I would say defintley take along enough of her baby milk if shes still on that and any of her usual food to last the duration of your holiday,as I have found that other countries dont sell our brand of stuff, and if shes a fussy baby you'll be in big trouble if you run out. Pampers nappies are more or less available everywhere so you should be ok with that. Most Airlines let you take your buggy right up to the gate or up to the plane before they check it in so you dont have to wait around holding the baby and they give it back to u as soon as you come of the plane Easyjet let all passengers with kids board the plane first too
Try not to worry about it to much,I'm sure you will all be ok and hopefully will have a great time.
I think its great taking kids aboard,We're hoping for another little break with the kids to Spain later on in the yr and planning our holiday to LA for Next yr I want our kids to see as much of the world as poss

One luggage reducing tip I can remember from when we took our young kids to Ibiza (Es Cana) in the eighties (it was a nice quiet place then!), was to buy the big 5 litre bottles of water, cut the top off and drop your sterilising tablets in them to clean your bottles. The Spanish love babies and they'll make a load of fuss over them in restaurants. Oh happy days!

My bit of advice is make sure you have good travel insurance better to be safe than sorry we would be in debt way over $250,000 dollars if it wasn't for travel insurance.

Have you considered a good babysitter in the UK!! I tried that and failed took two kids both in pushchairs to Majjorca mid summer!!!! Wife wanted to take everthing possible i took very little, turned out the on site shop sold all the essentials!! Baby milk was the only item we couldnt get!!
Oh and if its going to be hot take plenty of Suncream for kids it always seems so expensive abroad compared to Boots/Superdrug!!

    Thanks for the replies everyone

From that it seems we are looking OK Definatly taking her formula for mornings/nights, rest of the time she'll pretty much eat anything so we're hoping it'll be the same with their food too

Billy, missus' bonus paid for it & going this Sunday morning which means I miss the Spamspeed rolling road day Plenty of piccies please

another bit of advice, if it starts crying on the flight, make sure you dont stop it yowling on for the full duration of the journey - this makes it unbearable for all the other passengers. this happens on almost every flight i have been on
