Hi All I'm having an absolute nightmare tiring to sort out car child seats. It seems unless you've got a 3 year old car or newer your out of luck. I'm driving a 1991 Peugeot 205 and my wife's got a 2010 Hijet ( I know not exactly the common cars on the road) We brought a new car seat and it won't fit in either car as the seat belts are too short both front and back. So I've checked a few other cars including 2001 Peugeot 306, 2006 Seat Leon, 2008 Mondeo, 2009 Fiesta, all have exactly the same problem. I've tried the seat manufacturer and they said if I tell them the make and model of the car they will tell me if it fits but they won't release a list of cars. I was going to look at getting an ISOFIX base and ratchet strapping into place with some additional harness eyebolts attached to strengthening plates, but obviously this is illegal but I don't think either myself of my wife will be suing each other if the worst was to happen. This was the solution I was looking at in the MK1 escort at there are no rear belts and bucket seats In the front. Has anyone got any experience or suggestions with this? Can I get some longer belt reals from a different car and fit them?
