The sets i sell @ £130 are complete. Postage is £30... I will do you a set for £140 inc post.

You can have the inlet manifold as well if you like for free, but you need to pay extra postage. (another £20)

Well to me thats a very good price and from a trusted TS member too Theres a coupe on ebay advertising blacktop ones but clearly in the photos showing the smaller silvertop ones which are not as good.

    Re: 20v throttle bodies question

I wouldn't say the silver top are not as good, just used for a different application.

My 4age 16v was fitted with Silvertop ITBs and worked really nice all round... My friend fitted blacktop ITBs to his 16v and although the noise was better (sounded like a real animal) it seriously lacked toque.

If i built another 16v 4age i would definitely use the the Silvertop over the Blacktop. Unless i was going for a high revving modified monster.

    Re: 20v throttle bodies question

Yes Mark I agree it depends on the application. If your using the standard ECU but want to run open throttle bodies then you need the blacktop ones as silvertop is controlled using a AFM and not a map sensor. (Blacktop ecu needed too)
If people are using a aftermarket/standalone ecu then it doesnt matter as load can be measured via TPS on either.

    Re: 20v throttle bodies question

Yes they will bolt up. The reason why he maybe suggesting to go for blacktop TB's on a beams engine is the blacktop TB's are bigger. 45mm throttle blades compared to 42mm on a silvertop. Theres a couple of beams conversions on the net using 20v blacktop TB's.

Just the man actually, I fired you a message over on RR in your Escort build thread earlier this week! Was a query more than anything to see how the new manifolds have turned out. Going to be turning my mind to building up the 4AGE in the shed as soon as the Golf is on the road.

Yep. Agreed, BEAMS deffo Blacktop ITBs. The 42mm butterfly on the Silvertops is probably too small to give enough flow when hitting 8000 RPM.

Marshall, I don't get on RR that much, i will go take a look now

    Re: 20v throttle bodies question

I'm using the silver top tb's. revs to 8500 and put out 200 bhp. Probably about their limit. But seems to pull all the way into the limiter with out dropping off. Interesting to see what it would do with a set of Rods and dry sump!!!!
Also has more torque than an identical engine with 48 jenveys on but admit idly not quite as much power but that does have rods and dry sump.
