Hi I saw a fb post recently someone fitting JBW RS4 13x7.5 under standard Mk2 arches by shortening the axles and diff housing . From memory it was 20mm off each side. Can anyone confirm? TIA

ET is -19mm on the 13x7.5 RS4. My 13x7 0mm offset minilites fitted under rear standard arches no problem with 185 60 13 tyres. I'm hoping a shortened diff with the 7.5" wheels and 205 60 13 tyre will fit ok. The 205 sidewall should taper well on a 7.5" rim to allow clearance
Hi.
Friend of mine did that 30 years ago. Think he shortened the axle 25 mm each side, rolled the arches, turned down the inside of the wheels a few mm and used 195/55 tyres. If you intend to use them wheels at the front also better have a very good look if it all will fit i.e. you can turn the wheel/tyre a good amount without hitting the arch and/or the suspension components.
Thanks very much. I've changed my mind again and going for the 15x7 RS4 5P offset. A 15P offset in 15x7 is a known winner so theoretically shortening the diff by 10mm each side should give the same result. Hopefully won't cause any drama up the front. I'll be fitting 195 50 15 tyres
i have a thread fairly recently where i was given some very good advice regarding max amount to shorten and 10mm was about it if a 3.54 diff is to be used. have a search.
