    Duratec 2.5 crank

Hi out there; I need to know how far below the bottom of the block the crank and/or conn rod swept envelope is for both the 2.3 and the 2.5 engines. (I only have a 2.0l to play with at the moment)
If anyone has the bottom off one of these I'd appreciate if you could measure the worst (lowest) point.
    Thanks.

2.3 l3 mazda. If you find a 2.3 Ranger crank it doesnt have that huge cog to drive the balance shafts.

Thanks so far. Ignoring the huge cog, what is the lowest most protruding part in a full rotation and by how much?
It looks like the counterweights may swing further out than the conn-rods.

Neither swing out as far as the oil pump. If this question hasnt been answered by the next time I have the oil pan off my 2.5 I'll measure it for you. That damn oil pump is the devil for for fitment with a wet sump pan. I ended up moving my rack forward, using a tubular subframe, and was able to get away with the miata pan and having the 10° tilt the motor has in the miata. The tilt did have the nice benefit of making the miata intake fit better, and getting enough room to fit a 3.5" downpipe if I felt like it.

Thanks for that, but the oil pump is not the issue, I clear that OK.
It is the lowest swept arc or radius of the rotating bits of the crank I was after to make sure the windage tray doesn't foul.
