Tractive is an awesome gearbox.
Drift lads with big power cars near me are using samsonas, frank kelly is using one in his millington powered rally car and has a few videos on YouTube about the gearbox.
Have heard some lads don’t rate the gearshift as nice as tractive, but they do seem to be able to handle bit power.
Buddy of mine has a 500bhp 2jz drift car and he is currently is the process of fitting some bmw auto box, which with the addition of an aftermarket control can be used with paddle shift.
He also borrowed my tractive lever for a trial fit, and will be running one of them to just a micro switch that will also operate the box, should be a nice set up, but more involved fitment.
Cheers mate thats intersting i have a M3 gearbox iin t at the monent on H pattern

Hewland gearbox any good ?

Have a look on youtube for driftworks they have an e30 m3 with bmw v8 and autobox on paddle shift. I think it took a bit to get work right on the new controller but i think they are there now. Although probably no cheaper than an after market box by the time it is fitted. There is an american box tremec t56 (I think) which is H pattern but someone makes a sequential shifter for it i think might be worth a google.
i see what you both mean that is a lot cheaper were to go

i went with the tractive box, quiet for a sequential it just does what its supposed to do,
it is more expensive than a lot of the others but you will get it all back when you sell up,as there is never any second hand
He you go turbospud
I have a elite il300evo in mine , loud on the road but great with geartronics flat shift, rated to over 550ft pounds of torque
hi mate still got the Rs2000

Yes Jim , just making her faster and faster , you looking at one for the road ? They sound awesome just like a sewing machine lol
they do strong money second hand, almost new cost, thats a bmw fitment though
Yes son, you do see them now and again as you said strong money though , the Rolex of sequentials sir
who does these ?

sorry not who does these what i meant is who stocks them

When I got mine, I dealt direct with tractive, very nice to deal with.
You give them all the info, wheel/tyre size, diff ratio, power, rev limiter, and top speed wanted, and they build the box around that.
They use a drop gear system that very easy to adjust ratios, and you can can ask them to tweak it to suit when building it, and they will, and are happy to provide lots of advice.
Also have a 5 speed option that’s a bit cheaper.
Rarely pop up second hand and are strong money, almost makes good new a better job, especially when you get to select your ratios, and even the timber box they come in is a work of art.
But the secondhand value also is good to note if you ever had to sell it on.
cheers mate what software do you need or will it come with the box

That’s one of frank kellys videos about the box he is using behind his millington, think the new ones are up towards 350bhp and the diff lads use them too on bigger power cars.
That said he does get them for free but if he was breaking them I doubt he would use them.
Euro msport in Northern Ireland are agents for them and could provide more info, a little cheaper than a tractive.

I’m guessing that’s for flat shift, it comes with none, your ecu or an aftermarket stand alone flat shift ecu is needed.
There is a pot thing fitted to the box, that gives an output for it.
They asked me did I want a single or dual output, I choose dual (no extra cost) 1 for flat shift (controlled by my maxx ecu) and 1 for the dash display.
They also asked if I would be using paddle shift and I said maybe in a few years, so a strong spring was used in the box build, but the size gear lever used in an escort would offset the extra force needed to pull a gear (they have a short gear lever option too)
Jim geartronics do a standalone ecu about £350 that works off a load cell inline or gearstick load cell , uses the barrel sensor for reference, comes with software and easy to set up , and probably the best out there
rev set auto change is the way to go,no paddles or stick required, does frighten the life out you though
Need more info mr sud ,not heard about that , wasn't you on Xbox last time I spoke to you on paddleshift ?
Lol any more info on that xbox you use?
