    Angry Ffs!

Went to a job interview yesterday. I am from the North East and had to travel to Tamworth in Staforfshire.

Had a very good initial chat/interview and then a factory tour. Went back to the board room to have more indepth chat/interview and give my findings of their operation etc when we were interupted by a young man enquiring as to whether the Mondeo in the car park was mine. I confirmed it was and he then told me that the window had been smashed.

It seems that someone was either watching me park up or was a complete opportunist as the drivers window was smashed and my sat nav and mobile phone was stolen from the glovebox.

I always make sure that my sat nav is never on display if I have to leave it in the vehicle and whilst interviewing I never take my phone in with me as it could be the source of distraction.

The firm is based on an open plan type industrial estate with no perimeter fencing. The two chaps who were the directors of the firm were absolutely gutted. They were insistant that nothing like this had ever happened before.

One of the warehouse lads took my car and hoovered it out and put a sheet of polythene over the window apperture whilst I continued my interview.

On the way home I got a little lost as I had never been in Tamworth ever before and I ended up going home the long way - oh for my sat nav. I got home at about 8.30pm.

I just hope I land the role as if its a no what a double whammy that would be.

It seems these days that people are going to look in your glovebox by any means to see what you may have - don't stand a chance really.

Lastly, if anyone has a cheap sat nav available then I am very interested as I need one for future interviews and I dont have too much spare money to just go and replace it.

I sincerely hope none of my TS fellow members ever suffer the inconvenience I have just been through.

    Bad news fella! Twats!!

If you get a new phone and it happens to be a 3rd Gen Symbian 60 Nokia then I have got theTomTom software that I can send you for nowt. Can also talk you round the cracking codes so you wont have to pay owt for it.

Works on the new N series of phones if you get one of them.

Anyway, I hope the thieving scum bags loose there whole insides through some incurable disease!!

    Re: Ffs!

they look for the sat nav's sucker mark on the windscreen usually, probably found the phone in there while looking for it.

my Garmin has a pin number you can set and came with stickers to put in the windows to tell the scumbags that, i still dont leave it in the car though.

mmmm, i got an N93 and have been looking for the sat nav software for it as my old version dont work on the new phones.

I am sure I could hook you up my friend! All the software is on my home laptop so if you can wait until next week I can email it across.

I also have loads of different voices and all kinds of maps. All paid for of course...

Thats bad new mate. If i go for an interview i just either turn my phone off or put it on silent. As for the sat nav that comes with me everywhere when im at work, its a pain in the rectum but saves all the hassle.

    Re: Ffs!

Scott, I can't help with the nav I'm afriad, cos I haven't got any, but if you need a replacement phone, let me know. I have a nearly new, Nokia E60 I can let you have, and Dave's nav software may work on that.

    Re: Ffs!

I got a letter off the DVLA last week saying a parking attendant had noticed personal items on display while my car wa sparked up some place. I only ever leave a jacket on the back set but since the letter its now in the boot.

Makes you wonder just how bad this place is getting!!

I also have the older TomTom saftware if you need that fella.

    Re: Ffs!

    Well,

Can I just say a big thanks to all of you who have offered me your kind gifts and gestures.

I am about to contact the insurance companies (both car and house) to see where I stand with all this now.

I have my old Nokia 6680 still and so will use this but again thank you all for your offers.

The best bit though is that I did in fact land the job
I am starting Monday - I blew their fookin socks off

I am going in as a contractor initially with permenancy being offered in 8 weeks hopefully. Just been setting up my own company to enable this to progress.

This is the best news I have had in a very long time as some of you will know. I am absolutely elated

    Cosnada is back!!!!!!!!!
