!300GT MK1, mexico flares 6inch minilites 175x70x13 suspension and ride height advice

Hi, I have a 1300GT Mk1 escort that has Mexico flares fitted. I now have a set of 6 inch miniltes and 175x70x13 tires going on it.
I was hoping to get some advice n the suspension I should be considering an the ride height.
It will basically be a road/show car maybe some auto testing (non of the real fun stuff where I am In the US) its all on pretty smooth Tamac
My first priory is ride height and stance.
I like the idea off it being low stance, but period look also. Baring I mind the standard 1300GT standard suspension set up, what would you recommend.
    No rear passengers.

I will be restoring the car a latter point with upgrade engine (lotus twin-cam with 150bhp ) G/Box and suspension etc. So I don't mind getting some of the suspension sorted now, if its more practical.

    Thanks

    James

Unless you're planning on going wild with the suspension, the only real options you've got at the rear are lowering blocks, which fit between the axle and leaf springs, or to remove the leaf springs and get them decambered. The former is the cheapest and easiest option, the latter is the better (less chance of the suspension twisting).

At the front, again without going to the cost of coilovers, your options are probably limited to a set of lowering springs.

You could probably go -2" both front and back without too much trouble... though you may want to rethink the 70 profile tyres (it's quite tall!); most people tend to go 60 profile - I ran 185x60 on my RS/Capri four spokes. Here's mine when it was running standard arches and 185x60 tyres - all on -2" suspension all round (Capri 2.8 struts and lowered springs at the front and 2" blocks at the back):

Has anyone cut the front springs to drop the car? I think one coil would be enough, to get it sitting right until I get some uprated suspension.
