    Coscast head Gm head xe engine

    Hi
    this may be a bit of a stupid question but I have a c20xe with a GM Head on it would or could I replace that with a coscast head I am running a coil pack just got a chance of buying one to build a new engine I would appreciate any advice

    the heads are interchangable

    Dispac gm heads have the largest ports of any of the xe castings. Also what spec are you looking too run with the coscast head? The early ones aren't the best if went bigger valves in regards too seats. Also for decent power they need port boring.

    some of the late heads were cast by cosworth, agree with Philip the late heads are best, also check you use the right head bolts for your head there are two lengths, if you get them the wrong way round you'll either strip the threads out the block or have head gasket blow
