To Retrim or not to Retrim ?
77 RS2000 with the roll top seats.
The back seats are fine, but obviously faded with age.
The front seats arent tatty as such but the foam layer used in the beta cloth has disintegrated so the seat base and backs are a bit "saggy"
I keep looking at them and thinking should I get some of the covers from Aldridge and retrim them, Ive no doubt they would look superb, but then its not the original Beta cloth, and if I did the fronts then the rear would look faded in comparison and Id be thinking about doing that too. ( still a bit miffed that the previous owner's dad binned half a roll of Beta Cloth a few years ago )
Just putting it out there what are peoples thoughts on retrims as against originality ?

i did mine in vinyl with a basket weave, you can sort of see a bit in this photo. was a hell of a lot cheaper, i think £200 for both front seats. i only had 1 in as this was just before my wedding so the mrs could sit in the back with her dress on

Maybe its possible to dye the original cloth?
I know carpets can be dyed when they fade, you could always try it and if it turns out bad get the Aldridge kit, just an idea.

I had Alridge do my front and rear seats (RS2000 with fishnets). They do a great job. looks amazing, but did cost me about £1K.
