Try with the weight on the wheels?

Steering arms right way? Both taper joints tight?

Is it a proper twincam rollbar with the corresponding correct mounts as there is a difference in the mounts.

Mine is very close with no engine in, but there definitely isn't any contact between the track rod end and the anti roll bar. I believe mine is a twin cam arb - though whether an original or aftermarket I'm unsure, as I bought it used:
I have the double width kit mounts on mine. Sorry the last image isn't especially helpful.
It's not from rally design by any chance is it ?
Those bends all look a little loose to me. Here's a couple of pictures of a tc rollbar taken flat on the floor
Was gonna say a proper twink rollbar has a deeper kink in it.

I think a lot of twink rollbars are sold as such based purely on the diameter rather than the geometry.

Looking at the picture of the mk1 in the build thread that meXEco has just posted in, I think I'd agree in that the mounts appear to be wrong - the wheel is far too forward. Have you got any pictures of the mounts in place?
Other than davemk1 none of those look like a Tc bar. The link In a Tc bar is much tighter than the std curves

My escort twin cam and anti dive kit. Bought this years ago so could well be original. The car is on wheels but no engine and gearbox in. from the original picture i cannot see how raising the suspension with engine etc will alleviate that issue as the roll bar will rise with the strut.

I know what you are saying. The anti dive kit is only around 25mm thick so i cannot see how that would rectify the issue. I am not an MOT tester but i cannot see how that would pass an MOT in the uk. They usually jack the car and rotate the steering to full lock if the steering is binding on the roll bar surely that is unsafe ???
Rally Design!! Only joking.
rally design is the bottom one, puts the tca at a wierd angle and is closer to the steering arm
gp4 is the top one and more expensive but fits,
rally design version is slightly smaller diameter
With the rally design one the threaded part is barely smaller than the bar itself. It's pretty poor; to be honest I've come to expect that from rally design from stuff I've bought over the years.
Not sure where mine came from originally, but it's very similar to the GP4 one. I've had other stuff from them and it's always been good (most recent was a new radiator grill - spot on replica of the original).
Hi did you ever get to the bottom of this problem? Did the Gartrac roll bar do the trick?ive just ordered a complete Gartrac setup. Got the same problem and hoping it’s a badly bent up reproduced roll bar?
Cheers
Motorsport tools are selling one they claim that is made by the original manufacturer
Anyone know if they are legit?
