Remember seeing these big guys at the pod a few years back hitting consistent 12 second quarters in a red mk1, thought i'd go over and take a closer look.Got shocked when all i could see was a pinto on carbs.
There was me with my mk1 golf 16 valve supercharged 290+bhp, couldn't get anywhere near it.
"not bad for an old mk1 is it" he said to me as i stood with my jaw open.

I got to meet Ron on Sunday. He came over when i was talking to mk1 gaz .I was well pleased. I,ve been a Harris fan since i was a kid . When i was a lad my long suffering parents were bringing me back from a Custom Car show when our back box fell off. We pulled into the services on the motorway and the Harris family pulled into the same services in their Mk1 Zodiacs(yes ,its that long ago LOL) ,i was in awe !Anyway one of them,i think it was Andy came over and basically sorted it so we could finish our journey. Now ,if you can imagine,to me ,that was like Michael Schumacer doing the same for a family today!!! What a top family !!!!
Is Andy the guy on the left in the picture above? If so I met him and Ron at the last Ace Cafe OSF meet. I didn't know it was him until after we spoke. Top man!
