    Making my own plug leads

Okay, so I can now start to see light at the end of the tunnel for the rebuild of the Escort.

I'm now cabling everything back up, one of the things I've had done is a wasted spark conversion on the Cossie motor (chip, driver and loom all from Motorsport Developments). One thing I didn't do was pay through the eyes for a standard coilpack (led to believe these are Escort 1.6 zetec units?) and extortionately priced plug leads.

Now I'll need to change the ends of the leads for clip on ones appropriate for the coilpack instead of the distributor, but I may as well cut/size them to the right length anyway, since I'm mounting it on the bulkhead, so the leads may well end up not being long enough anyway.

So, I need to find out how to buy HT cable (sorted, it's cheap as chips in 8/9mm) and both plug and coilpack ends. But I'm having trouble tracking down the right connectors to use for the cossie plugs as they're those really deep recessed ones. Anyone any ideas for a supplier of new, compatible ends?

Fastlane do loads of connectors so will probably have the one you're after, You will probably have to send them a photo or something to go on though

Re: Making my own plug leads

I ended up ordering a new set of standard 4x4 Cossie plug leads and a set of Focus/Escort zetec coil pack end clips:

Came to around £40 all in, compared to £80+ for a set of pre-made wasted spark compatible leads. I'll chop the ends off the new leads and fit the coilpack style clips instead. Shouldn't be more than half an hours work.

    Cheers guys.

Put some washing liquid to be able to slide it back on connector !
And a correct crimp tool is needed to make it correctly
