2.0 block to 2.5 block swap?
Hiya,
Can I simply swap a 2.0 block for a 2.5 block and retain same ported head and drysump system?
...sitting here bored wondering out loud..

Yes the parts you mention are interchangeable.Depending on what pistons you are going to use in the 2.5, the compression will need matching to the 2.0 head.

Duratec?
If so and the kit is pace then the dry sump pan will fit
The mounting bracket will be about 25mm to short
And the pressure stage maybe a touch smaller than needed

How ported is the head? The one on the 2.5 might already flow better unless you went totally crazy. Even so if you started with the non-vvt ford head gettin the 2.5 ported to match what you have would probably be worth it to get the vvt.
You might also have exhaust and hood clearance issues since the deck of the block is moved up 14mm.

Re: 2.0 block to 2.5 block swap?
Well, I picked up a 2.0 project with a 300'cam and a head ported enough to flow 260bhp.. Whatever the reality is who knows..
But I was just idley thinking "whatifs" and what could be transferred over in case I wanted to go 2.3 or 2.5 in future. Of course beefing up the bottom end and CR would be looked at but I would like to minimize what parts would go in the bin IYKWIM..
