    XR4i

Never one to be able to resist the chance to get a post in first in a new forum, heres my old Sierra XR4i power sheet, engine was a bog standard 2.8i from a granada and it was running Efi rather than Mfi. not much bhp but loads of torque for some reason.

its not that down on power, in truth that engine in std form was 150bhp at best even if ford sometimes claimed 160, so your only missing a few bhp which could easily be down to age and mileage.

thinking about it i seem to remember a magazine test on a xr4i engine they did a before and after of fitting 6 port heads, they were supprised how low the std power was 142-145 from memory with the 6 port heads i think it made 152

I'd say that graph is pretty impressive actually.
Now I know why my XR4i was so quick, didn't reallise they had so much torque : cant be that far off the torque for a std cossie?

the EFI's did have more torque, presumably through a less restrictive intake compaired to the origonal k jet

    Re: XR4i

the guy did say he had never seen a standard 2.8 make its claimed bhp, but mine had mo0re torque lower down than he had seen before, i was wondering if it had a cam designed for caravanners in it!! lol
