Excellent
I will never forget your face after going for that fly around santa pod
My m8's got one but he is to scared to fly it as the last one he got he only got it 5 or 6 metres in the air then crashed it, is there any way of learning how to fly one????
The only way is sideways!!!
Yeh you have to use a PC simulator - plug the transmitter into the PC and fly and crash without paying for it
Have a look here... http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html
I've done a few real heli lessons and RC is definately harder. When you are sitting in one then forwards is always forwards. When flying towards you with RC it is like turning your mouse upside down and still being able to work the PC without going wrong once!Originally Posted by Brayspeed
What heli do you have, and how much do you want to sell it for?

ace think of the fun and mischeif you could get up to with one of them! ! ! ! by droping water balloons on unsuspecting victims etc. ! ! ! probly just me and my crule sense of hummor
Good to see I'm not alone into cars & RC stuff.
Have got a Zoom 400, belt drive conv, brushless and some shiney alloy bits.
Can do figure 8s and side on hovering but no more at present. Has a tail rotor glitch that comes about when it's far away from you!!
Must try a different receiver, as only luck has kept it in the air!
I also learnt on the PC, and still practise nose in hovering when I get the chance, Im a much better pilot on the PC than in the air!!
Anyone wanting to get into this, find someone who can fly to set up the coptor for you. Be warned though, it is addictive
I bought one of the £100.oo electric mini helicopters to learn to fly indoors.
with a couple of batteries I can fly for 30 minutes every hour.
They respond exactly the same as a full size model, but if (when) you crash the repair bill is a few quid.
I have spent hours and hours practacing in front of the tele, I am OK when the model is facing away from me, but turn it round and all hell breaks loose!
Very addictive, and when I can fly reasonable compitantly I will get a petrol model and join a club.

Just checking my eyes work!
They look interesting, are they fairly stable? The videos are good and show it to be very stable.
Any video clips of you flying yours?
Steve
Steve,
I dont have any video but they really are stable and if trimmed correctly will stay in the same place handsfree!
The battery life is about 15 minutes, and as a free bonus it drives the wife nuts!!
