dipstick with manta sump
hi Folks,
Im just wondering what others are using for dipsticks on XE's with a manta sump, manta dipstick perhaps? with about 4.5 litres in my xe with manta sump, it only comes to the M on the MIN mark on the FWD Xe dipstick.
needs to be just about 19mm longer to go to the max mark with 4.5 litres of oil
Bearing in mind the engine is upright with a manta sump
thanks!

Re: dipstick with manta sump
I use the std xe dipstick with a manta sump, however my engine is at 7 degrees, as is the manta sump.
Thing is.... If you use a manta sump on an engine mounted upright, you have effectively put the sump invert into a 7 degree orientation, which will result in the oil sitting away from the dipstick, lowering the oil level it is reading, because your sump isn't now level, it's at 7 degrees, sloping away from the dipstick.

Re: dipstick with manta sump
yeah i know what you mean, ive cut a small portion off my sump so its now level with the xmember, ive lost very little capacity, but it means the sump is out of danger and i can fit my sump guard.
do you know how much your car takes to the max level inc the filter? if 4.5 is the right amount for the manta sump il just extent the dipstick till it levels with the MAX
