    Chrome to Black Door Handles

    Hey guys

I'm looking at replacing the chrome door handles with black items same as RS but don't want to spend ridiculous amounts on ones i've seen on ebay plus i'd like to do it myself anyway since i have some perfectly good chrome ones here

Now i know you can sand them and use special etch primer to stick to the chrome and then paint but i'm thinking of trying to take it one step further

I have access to a home powder coating system so was thinking if i can strip the actual chrome off handles down to the raw materials then i could run over them with a satin black powder and bake in oven for probably a better than factory finish

My problem is though, how to remove the actual chrome without damaging the substrate

    Anyone have any ideas?

I had mine blasted, but rather than strip the lock for powder coating just etch primed and satin black paint.
